Looking for something to do while you wait for on-track action at Darlington Raceway to begin on Friday morning, May 12? Good news! The list of area race week activities includes something for everyone, including:
What: A Taste of Darlington, an open-house style event showcasing the best of local cuisine.
When: Tuesday, May 9, 7-9 p.m.
Where: The Wachovia Hospitality Village, located at Darlington Raceway outside Turn 3
Info: This open-house style event, sponsored by the Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association, showcases the best of local cuisine. Highlights include grilling stations, dessert tables and over 100 varieties of hors d'oeurves.
Admission: $30 per person, which includes all you can eat and an open bar. Tickets are available at the gate.
What: Legends Series and Allison Legacy Series racing, plus a 200-lap "Run What You Brung" enduro race
When: Wednesday, May 10, gates open at 2 pm, racing begins at 7 pm
Where: Florence Motor Speedway, located on Highway 76 between Florence and Timmonsville
Admission: Adults ages 13 and older $10, kids ages 8-12 $3, kids 7 and under free
What: Darlington Raceway Car Hauler Parade
When: Thursday, May 11, 5:30 p.m.
Where: Begins at the Florence Civic Center, located at the intersection of I-95 and I-20 in Florence
Info: See the team haulers and meet the hauler drivers. Food live music and more! Hauler Parade will begin at 7:30 p.m., winding through the heart of Florence and following US Hwy. 52 into downtown Darlington.

What: Race Fest on the Square

Where: The Public Square in downtown Darlington
