Darlington Night Race Leads Voting in NASCAR.com Poll
With three of the next four NASCAR Sprint Cup events being held at night, the most recent fan poll question on NASCAR.com asks fans to rate their favorite upcoming night. The SHOWTIME Southern 500 quickly jumped out to the lead passing this weekend’s event at Texas Motor Speedway and the late-April event at Richmond International Raceway as the favorite upcoming night race among fans polled.
“This poll shows just how much NASCAR fans appreciate the tradition and excitement that surrounds the SHOWTIME Southern 500 weekend at Darlington Raceway. No other track on the circuit offers as much non-stop racing action and as much beating and banging as Darlington Raceway,” said track President Chris Browning. “We are looking forward to having everyone at Darlington Raceway for the SHOWTIME Southern 500 and treating them to some true southern hospitality on Mother’s Day weekend.”
Currently, the poll has over 42,000 responses with Darlington receiving more than 19,400 (46%) totally votes. Fans can still cast their vote by visiting NASCAR.com and scrolling to the bottom of the homepage.
