DARLINGTON, SOUTH CAROLINA (Sept. 26, 2018) – Darlington Raceway will serve as the host for quality barbeque and classic cars when the Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-off and Car Show presented by Raldex returns to the track for a one-day event on Saturday, November 10.

The event will be FREE and open to the public from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Individual tickets will be sold for the BBQ tasting, which starts at 11 a.m. Tickets will be $1 per ticket or 12 for $10.

“We’re proud to be hosting this event for the sixth consecutive year,” track President Kerry Tharp said. “The Speed and Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Car Show will feature great barbeque and a car show for our community to enjoy. Fall is known for many great festivals in our race track helps make this a unique event. Thank you to Raldex and their hotels for serving as the presenting sponsor of this event.”

The BBQ cook-off will again be sanctioned by the South Carolina BBQ Association, one of the premier BBQ organizations in the country, and feature some of the top cook teams in the region. The teams will be vying to win the coveted $2,000 first-place prize.

Another unique experience for the BBQ competition is that the winner of this year’s event will be honored during pre-race ceremonies for the NASCAR XFINITY Series Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200 race on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Dean Price from the ‘Pimp My Pig’ BBQ team was honored this year for winning the 2017 competition.

Additionally, the car show will feature an open show of cars and trucks on display for enthusiasts, along with a swap meet. Participants will have the opportunity to make a lap around the famous 1.366-mile raceway on that Saturday.

Pre-registration for the car show is $25. Day of show registration will be $30. A commemorative dash plaque will be given to the first 500 car and truck registrations. Trophies will be given to the top 50 cars and trucks, plus other special awards.

The event will also feature driving experiences in actual race cars through the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience, which will be on site that day. Experiences can be purchased in advance through the driving school by visiting www.RaceWithRusty.com or on the day of the event. Driving experiences are scheduled for 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. during the event.
