    Darlington Raceway and Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits announced today a five-year extension of their NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 race entitlement partnership. The partnership, which began in 2012, will continue to bring two iconic southern brands together through the 2019 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.

    Darlington Raceway and NASCAR officials announced that stock car racing will return to the track Too Tough To Tame on Labor Day weekend in 2015. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 will compete on Sunday, Sept. 6. The NASCAR Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 will race on Saturday, Sept. 5 (official start times TBA). Both races are scheduled to be broadcast on NBC.

    3,650 STRAIGHT DAYS! DARLINGTON MARATHON PARTICIPANT ROBBIE McLENDON TO ACHIEVE HIS ULTIMATE GOAL ON AUGUST 29

    For most people, the idea of running every day for 10 straight years seems like an insurmountable task. Not for Bishopville, S.C. resident and Darlington Marathon participant Robbie McLendon. This Friday, August 29, McLendon will have run every single day for 10 consecutive years, a span of 3,650 days. The avid runner has averaged 8.38 miles per day since 2004 and will have totaled over 30,607 miles of running, following the completion of his 10-year streak.

    Lesa France Kennedy to be Honored by National Women’s History Museum

    On Saturday, August 23, 2014, the National Women’s History Museum (NWHM) and its Los Angeles Regional Council, will host a private brunch at 11:45 a.m. PT at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles – Women Making History – to honor the achievements of three notable women including Lesa France Kennedy, ISC CEO and NASCAR Board Member. The event will honor female philanthropists and activists who contribute to women’s history while creating awareness to advance NWHM’s mission and build a world-class museum in Washington, D.C.

    RACE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS’ DANNY WHITE OFFICIALLY CERTIFIES BOJANGLES’ DARLINGTON MARATHON COURSES

    The race courses for the Sept. 26-27 Bojangles’ Darlington Marathon Presented by Sam Carbis Solutions Group have been officially certified by Danny White of Race Management Systems. The certification ensures all the distances are exact and allows the competitors to qualify for other signature events such as the 2015 Boston Marathon.
