354 UNITS OF BLOOD COLLECTED AT DARLINGTON RACEWAY BLOOD DRIVES IN 2014

Race fans and community members joined Darlington Raceway on Patriots Day for the ninth annual 9-11 Darlington Raceway Blood Drive. A total of 173 units of blood were collected on Thursday. Combined with the 181 units of blood collected during the track’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 race weekend last April, Darlington Raceway has collected 354 total units of blood in 2014 for the South Carolina Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross.

  • Snowman's Run Comes to Darlington

    Darlington Raceway received a visit June 6 from the 'Snowman’s Run benefiting Wounded Warriors' group. Snowman’s Run is so aptly named from the 1977 hit movie “Smokey and the Bandit” starring Burt Reynolds (Bandit) and Sally Field. Snowman was the character name of Bandit’s friend and fellow truck driver Cledus "Snowman" Snow (Jerry Reed), who drove the truck in the movie.

    2015 NASCAR HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE BILL ELLIOTT MADE HISTORY AT DARLINGTON RACEWAY

    The Elliott name has made quite an impression on Darlington Raceway over the years, most recently with Chase Elliott winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 last month. Now his dad, Bill, is a 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee, which brings us back to one of the most memorable moments in Darlington Raceway history.

    “TURN 3 THEATER PRESENTED BY RACEWAY FORD CHEVROLET” COMING TO DARLINGTON RACEWAY!

    Hollywood is coming to Darlington Raceway. On Friday, July 18 and Friday, August 22, the track will host “Turn 3 Theater Presented by Raceway Ford Chevrolet”, a free movie event hosted at the track’s lush hospitality village. The family-fun movie nights will feature Pixar’s “Cars” in June and Disney’s “Planes” in August. During the “Cars” showing, the track will have the famous Hudson Hornet on display. The Hudson Hornet was the inspiration behind the character “Doc” in the original film, which was released in 2006. “Planes” was a 2013 spinoff from the “Cars” franchise. “Turn 3 Theater Presented by Raceway Automotive” will also offer kids activities, cornhole games and a variety of other family activities. Pace car rides for a $5 per person donation and concessions will be available with all proceeds benefiting the track’s 501(c)3 non-profit arm, Darlington Shares.
