THE TRADITION RETURNS! DARLINGTON RACEWAY’S BOJANGLES’ SOUTHERN 500 MOVING BACK TO LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN 2015

Darlington Raceway and NASCAR officials announced that stock car racing will return to the track Too Tough To Tame on Labor Day weekend in 2015. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 will compete on Sunday, Sept. 6. The NASCAR Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 will race on Saturday, Sept. 5 (official start times TBA). Both races are scheduled to be broadcast on NBC.

    CAPITOL RECORDS RECORDING ARTIST JON PARDI TO PERFORM BOJANGLES’ SOUTHERN 500 PRE-RACE CONCERT

    Capitol Records recording artist Jon Pardi will perform a pre-race concert before the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on April 12. Pardi, a California native, is a rising country star whose debut album, Write You A Song, was released on January 14. The release includes Top Ten hit, “Up All Night,” and his Top 25 debut single, “Missin’ You Crazy.”

    Darlington Raceway is once again giving its fans the opportunity to receive ultimate access during pre-race ceremonies for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Bojangles’ Southern 500 on April 12. The track’s Daytona 500 special ticket package, which kicks off on Saturday, Feb. 15, will give fans the ability to watch Sprint Cup Series driver introductions and a concert from in front of the pre-race stage.

    Darlington Raceway received a visit from South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley on Monday. The governor praised the track as an important economic driver for the Pee Dee region and state of South Carolina. The governor was a guest at a track-hosted business lunch event, which featured statewide and regional business executives including International Speedway Corporation (ISC) CEO Lesa France Kennedy.

    The votes have been tallied and local Darlington, S.C. native Kaitlyn Bailey has been selected as Darlington Raceway’s next “Lady in Black”.
