A MESSAGE FROM DARLINGTON RACEWAY PRESIDENT KERRY THARP

Dear Darlington Raceway fans:

First and foremost, I hope you and your family continue to be safe and healthy as we work through these unprecedented times. Your well-being is our number one priority.

We are thrilled to share with you that the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season will return to racing at our beloved Darlington Raceway on May 17 and 20, and will resume racing for the NASCAR Xfinity Series on May 19. Darlington is one of the most iconic and historic tracks in the sport and will be a tremendous backdrop when NASCAR returns. We certainly appreciate the support from our state leadership in working with NASCAR to allow us to host these events.

In order for these events to take place, we must be in accordance with the CDC and public health agency standards and protocols, which means no fans will be admitted to these upcoming events. This is in the best interest of fan health and safety and in compliance with the social distancing guidelines by the state of South Carolina. That said, we must stress that fans will not be permitted to gather on race track property during these events.

You will be able to tune in to FOX and FS1 for live coverage, and the races will also be broadcast live on MRN Radio and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90. The best way that you can support us throughout this time is by watching or listening to these events live or by following along on all of Darlington Raceway’s social media channels for exclusive coverage.

Please note that these races will not replace our Labor Day weekend event with our award-winning Throwback Platform, and we look forward to hosting you at the Lady in Black Sept. 4-6 for the Southern 500 and the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200.

Thank you for your continued support of Darlington Raceway. You are all without question Too Tough To Tame.

Take care.

Sincerely,

Kerry Tharp

Darlington Raceway, Track President
