DARLINGTON, SOUTH CAROLINA (March 17, 2016) – Darlington Raceway’s Turn 3 Theater Presented by Raceway Ford Chevrolet will return for its third season, once again offering free family-fun movies for the community.

This year’s free movie lineup will feature two iconic Disney films, Aladdin on Friday, April 8 and Frozen on Friday, May 13. The events will take place in the track’s hospitality village.

“This is the third year of Turn 3 Theater, which has been a big hit with our local community. It’s a great way to enjoy a night out with the family with our historical race track as the back drop,” Darlington Raceway President Chip Wile said. “It’s because of great partners like Raceway Ford Chevrolet and the City of Hartsville that these movie nights are successful.”

Turn 3 Theater Presented by Raceway Ford Chevrolet will offer kids activities and a variety of other family fun events. Pace car rides for a $10 per person donation and concessions will be available with all proceeds benefiting the track’s 501(c)3 non-profit arm Darlington Shares.

For the showing of Frozen on May 13, the track is encouraging moviegoers to dress up as their favorite Frozen character. Prior to the start of the movie, the Darlington Raceway staff will select the best costume, with the winner receiving tickets to the Sept. 3 NASCAR XFINITY Series VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200.

“We are proud of our partnership with Darlington Raceway,” John Isgett, President of Raceway Ford Chevrolet said. “Raceway Ford and Chevrolet share the same community values as Darlington Raceway and we are happy to participate and make Turn 3 Theater available to our local residents.”

Guests may bring food, however, concessions will also be available with all proceeds benefiting Darlington Shares. Free popcorn will be distributed to families before the feature presentation (one tub per family). Lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are permitted (no glass bottles).

Movie fans will need to enter at the Gate 39A tunnel entrance, where they will be directed to park just west of the hospitality village. The gates will open at 6 p.m. with movies starting at dusk. The films will be played on a big screen courtesy of the City of Hartsville.
